The Lodge at Wakulla Springs Accessibility Overview 

TERRAIN

Sidewalks and Pathways:
The main entrance features a walkway with pavers. The right-side entrance offers a slight incline with a concrete ramp. Pathways throughout the property are concrete.

Public Areas:
All public areas are accessible (excluding hiking trails).

Doors:
Exterior building doorways are not automated.

Parking:
Three designated accessible parking spots are located within a few feet of the lodge entrance.

Flooring:
Interior flooring consists of marble with area rugs.

ACTIVITIES

Trails:
The main Nature Trail offers up to 9 miles of easy to moderate hiking with five entry points. The Cherokee Sink Trail is a 1.4-mile hike leading to an 80-foot-deep sinkhole lake.

Docks:
Docks are fixed and equipped with railings.

Boat Tours:
45-minute guided boat tours are available. Boats are 30 feet long with covered roofs. Wheelchair-accessible boats are available upon request. A manual wheelchair can also be requested at the waterfront visitor center.

Bike Rentals:
No ADA accommodations available for bike rentals.

Other Activities:
State park activities are posted at the lodge front desk and on the lodge’s Facebook page.

Monthly Bob Ross Paint Classes:
ADA-accessible seating is available. The terrace entrance has a ramp and double-door entry.

LODGING

Rooms: Rooms are located on the second floor, accessible by elevator or stairs.
Please note: The elevator will be out of service from May 26, 2025, to March 2026. During this time, all lodging rooms will not be ADA accessible.

Layout:

  • Light switches: 3’10” from the floor
  • Entry and bathroom doors: 32” wide
  • Outlets: Two at 18” from the floor, one at 16”
  • Mattress height: 28” from the floor
  • Closet entry width: 36”; shelf height: 4’
  • Space between two beds: 32”

Doors: Interior door handles are at a standard height and open inward. Exterior doors are not automated.

  • Roll-in shower with pull-down bench
  • Sink height: 28” from the floor
  • Toilet height: 18” from the floor
  • Grab bars: 36” from the floor
  • Handheld shower head
  • Toiletries shelf located above the sink, near the toilet

RESTAURANT

Accessibility and Dietary Accommodations:

  • Wheelchair-accessible seating available for small and large parties
  • Vegetarian options labeled on the menu
  • Vegan and gluten-free options available upon request

SODA PARLOR

Entrance: No stairs; flat entry with no automatic door.

Seating:  High-top seating available at the bar; standard-height tables are available at the front and back of the parlor.

SPRINGS SHOP

Entrance:  No stairs; flat entry with no automatic door.

Interior:  Spacious layout allowing for wheelchair accessibility.
